On November 16, 2018, the Contemporary German Literature Collection at Washington University Libraries was renamed the Mike Lützeler Contemporary German Literature Collection in honor of Professor Lützeler.
Professor Erlin spearheads new Summer Humanities Institute. Professors Kita and McGlothlin participated.
Samantha Kusnierkiewicz began as Business Coordinator on July 16, 2018.

This fall, we welcome four new PhD students, as well as our four exchange students, two Max Kade research assistants, and a new master's student. We are so happy to have you all!
Claire Meyer began as the department's Business Coordinator on July 5, 2017. As a native St. Louisan, she is very pleased to return to her hometown.

Cecily Stewart Hawksworth began as the department's Academic Coordinator on June 27, 2016. She comes to us from the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences at Washington University, where she worked for six years in various administrative roles.
