Lara’s Bachelor’s degree in German Studies and Musicology inspired her to research interdisciplinarily. At the University of Cologne she started her Master’s studies in professional writing and received her MA Washington University through the Cologne Exchange Program.

Her academic interests besides literary studies include different disciplines from music, sociology, and philosophy up to feminist theories and dance. In her bachelor thesis, she has researched on connections between social criticism in contemporary German Poetry and German Rap Music. Her current research focus is set on the moon motif in contemporary poetry. She was one of the founders of the writing collective [in klammern] in Cologne and has participated in readings with her own texts and the print project of the same name. Currently, she works as a co-teacher in German on different levels at Washington University.
