Basic German: Core Course II

GERMANIC LANGUAGES AND LITERATURES 102D

Continuation of German 101D. In preparation for more advanced academic study in German, this second course will further introduce students to fundamental German grammar, culture, and history. It is comprised of a combination of theme-basaed lessons and tasks which will challenge students to think critically while developing language skills and expanding their vocabularies. Students in 102D will familiarize themselves with the language necessary to understand and give directions and navigate many typical speaking situations. In addition they will read more advanced content such as an actual fairy tales and authentic texts and graphics. Prereq: German 100D, 101D, the equivalent, or placement by examination. Students who complete this course successfully should enter German 201D.
