Winter Adé: Germanic Film Series

March's film (After Winter comes Spring) directed by Helke Misselwitz, is a documentary that focuses on East German women who reveal their personal and professional achievements, hopes, and hardships. Winter Adé is the title of a children’s song that says goodbye to winter and celebrates the coming spring. Misselwitz interviews while traveling by train from the South to the North of East Germany. Filmed shortly before the collapse of the GDR, this film presents a rich bouquet of stories about different women reflecting on their life in the GDR.

All films will be shown in German with English subtitles. Pizza, sodas, and snacks will be served, and a discussion will occur after the viewing.
