Serienabend 3: Babylon Berlin

Please join us for the April German department Serienabend.

For this month's Serienabend (the last of this semester) we will watch the first episode of the series Babylon Berlin. Police inspector Gereon Rath arrives in 1929 Berlin on assignment from Cologne. On his secret mission to dismantle an extortion ring, he meets Charlotte Ritter, police clerk by day, flapper by night, who aspires to become a police inspector herself.

You will need to have a Netflix subscription and have downloaded the Google Chrome extension called "Teleparty." English subtitles will be available.

Our faculty guest will be Professor Lynne Tatlock, director of Comparative Literature and Hortense and Tobias Lewin Distinguished Professor in the Humanities. She will join us for a discussion on filmic elements, storytelling, and historical context.

This screening is free and open to the public. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the event.
