Teaching Practicum

GERMANIC LANGUAGES AND LITERATURES 5052

This course supports beginning university instructors during their first semester teaching a German course at Washington University. This practical, hands-on course will be comprised of lesson planning, activity design, evaluation of materials and textbooks, microteaching, and discussion. Topics covered include: communicative language teaching, fostering student engagement and learner autonomy, appropriate strategies for feedback and assessment, and use of technology in the foreign language classroom.
