Peter received his bachelor's degree in European Studies (German) from the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria in 2012, where he wrote a thesis titled "Die gesellschaftlichen Probleme der Ostdeutschen nach der Wende. Ihre Darstellung in Christoph Heins Roman Willenbrock."

He worked as a Project Assistant at the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Nigeria after completing his bachelor's degree.

He completed a master's degree in Modern Languages (German) at the University of Mississippi, during which he taught basic and intermediate German, studied abroad at the University of Potsdam, and wrote a thesis on "Vergangenheitsbewältigung-und Aufarbeitung" in the novels of Hans Ulrich-Treichel (Der Verlorene), Uwe Timm (Am Beispiel meines Bruders) and Monika Maron (Pawels Briefe). The thesis discusses the process of coming to terms with the past among various generations represented in these familial autobiographies.
