Heidi is a graduate student in the joint German and Comparative Literature program. She earned her BA from the College of the Holy Cross in 2012, where she studied English and German.
In her junior year, Heidi was a visiting student at Mansfield College, Oxford University. In 2012, she was awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to Germany. Heidi spent the spring 2016 semester as an exchange student at the Eberhart Karls Universität in Tübingen.
Her research focuses on Goethe’s Faust, its engagement with the European epic tradition, and Faust as a potential model for Goethe’s concept of Weltliteratur. Heidi explores the way in which Faust fulfills the 18th-century yearning for a great German (epic) work and draws German literature into the international literary exchange that serves as the foundation for Weltliteratur.
