Brian Vetruba is the Germanic Languages & Literatures, Comparative Literature, and European Studies Librarian at Olin Library, where he also serves as the principal cataloger of German-language materials.
For questions about or assistance with library resources, services, or research, he is the department’s “go-to guy.” This is the favorite part of his job!
Brian received his Master of Information Studies (MISt) from the University of Toronto in 2001. He also holds a master's degree in German Literature and Culture (1996) and another one in West European Studies (1995) from Indiana University. He has held numerous offices in the Western European Studies Section of the Association of College & Research Libraries since 1999, including section chair, vice-chair, and secretary. He has published reviews of electronic research databases in The Charleston Advisor as well as contributed as an abstractor for Reference Reviews Europe Annual. He is active in the Modern Language Association as a field bibliographer and has served on the Advisory Committee on the MLA International Bibliography. He was awarded an MLA Bibliography Fellowship for 2012-2015. More about Brian.
